After ‘Naagin’, Aastha-Akasa need to go for Round 2

This could well be the start of a great thing. Aastha-Akasa collaborations, that is. One has to wonder why it took so long to get these two voices together on a song. But now that they’re off the starting line, we hope they sprint in tandem to their second single together.

Naagin serves as a flashpoint for the ignition of a ‘dhamaka‘ in the pop world. It’s an explosion of talent in a single and it’s too volatile to contain in just a one-off collaboration.
Aastha Gill and Akasa Singh have been friends for a while now and that chemistry is quite evident in the Naagin video.
Lyricist and composer Vayu (it’s his third outing with Akasa; Thug Ranjha and Maaserati being the other two) says the vibe of Naagin is inspired by ‘Indian truck art’ and that earthiness is evident throughout.
A celebratory affair despite the lyrical pining for the ‘pardesi‘ sapera (snake-charmer), the single will have you on the floor swaying to the moombahton-influenced beats of Akshe Puri aka Puri.
How many days or months will this song rule the charts? Our answer: Na gin, gin gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, gin… You get the picture!
