Friends and fans of the singer tweeted in support
Demi Lovato, 25, was hospitalised last night after a reported overdose. She is now “awake and responsive” according to the latest reports.
The Los Angeles Police Department reportedly responded on Tuesday to a medical emergency in the Hollywood Hills, where Lovato lives. TMZ reported that Demi was found unconscious and treated at the scene with Narcan, an anti-overdose medicine.
Last heard, Demi was “awake and with her family” and her rep mentioned that “some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy”.
Demi Lovato has never shied away from sharing her personal struggles with mental health and addiction on public platforms and in the past, has even released a documentary on her return to being sober.
But late last month, she revealed in her new song, Sober, that she had relapsed into her addiciton, singing,“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore/And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilt on the floor.” And to her fans, she sang, “To the ones who never left me/We’ve been down this road before/I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore.”
The latest news has jolted everyone who knows the artist, with several pouring out their hearts on social media, wishing her a speedy recovery.

praying for @ddlovato and her health. When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate. 💔
