Hard Kaur takes aim at Sameer over Chaar Baj Gaye lyrics credit
By Bryan Durham - May 27, 2019
Late last night, Hard Kaur shot off an angry Instagram post with an accompanying video of lyricist Sameer Anjaan “claiming” he had written the lyrics of F.A.L.T.U.’s Chaar Baj Gaye, alleging that “it’s a f***ing lie”.
In the post, rapper Hard Kaur, who is credited as the singer of the song, reacts to a clip of Sameer and his family appearing on comedy special, The Kapil Sharma Show.
In the clip, Sameer says he wanted to make a song that showed his children that their father was “in” with the times. He goes on to claim in the video that he was the one who introduced Sachin-Jigar as a composer duo to Bollywood. And implied that he co-composed Chaar Baj Gaye.
Sameer’s name appears as the lyricist along with Sachin-Jigar on all streaming platforms. HK is credited everywhere as the singer. SJ are credited separately as the composer duo.
Hence, Hard Kaur’s post, which alleges that Sameer (a Guinness World Record holder for writing the most lyrics in Bollywood) didn’t write the lyrics of the breakthrough song for both the composer duo and Hard Kaur in Bollywood, is a serious one. She writes, “Taking my credit and royalties is one thing. Sitting on national TV and talking sh*t with such pride is next level low (sic)”.
Most fans who replied to her post agree that the lyrics of Chaar Baj Gaye do seem like something Hard Kaur (who always writes her own rap) would come up with. The vocabulary of the song, they surmise, feels more her vibe than it is Sameer’s.
Sameer as well as Sachin-Jigar have yet to react to the allegations made by Hard Kaur.>
