Leon James’s Kanne Kanne featuring Jonita Gandhi is a visual and aural treat

Kuthu energy. Check. Contemporary dance. Check. Folk charm. Check. What’s next?

The fourth song to emerge from Sony Music India and Knack Studios’ 7UP Madras Gig is Kanne Kanne. It brings to us a mix of acoustic and dubstep strung together with the voices of Leon and Jonita Gandhi. After Veera Thamizhan, Orasaadha and Raati, this song is a visual delight, especially for the youth.

The song begins with Leon singing earnestly over a piano. From the get-go, you can feel something big is coming up. A drop heavier than the Titanic. One can’t resist grooving to it and to add to the madness is the visuals with trippy lights and cryptic symbols on top. A completely Bollywood twist given to this, it makes Kanne Kanne an attractive melody.

What follows is a melodious relief with Jonita Gandhi taking over the vocals, followed by Leon while they switch between the piano and a visualization setup, adding colour and contrast to the entire video.

A visual and an aural treat, Kanne Kanne is a must watch for anyone who is on the lookout for a fresh sound. With Madras Gig, independent music just keeps getting better and better!
