Tab Bhi Tu | Review - Bandook

Review by Bryan Durham
Song: Tab Bhi Tu
Film: October
Music: Anupam Roy
Lyrics: Tanveer Ghazi

* Several degrees of separation exist between this pair that finds themselves at the same workplace, breathing the same air. And Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu exemplify that ironical distance-in-close-proximity rather well.
* The visuals are fresh, not a repeat of the Theme or Theher Ja. And it’s a complete story by itself here. As if they’re standalone music videos woven into a larger narrative.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has you from the get-go, mouthing Tanveer Ghazi’s words rather articulately.
* Tanveer is the star and each metaphor hits you like a ton of bricks.
* Anupam uses live instruments and the layering is subtle, allowing RFAK to do his thing. But we’d rather like to see the music play the bigger role in the scheme of things.
* The song’s emotional, moody core and its verse will attract a particular type of following.
