According to a recent study, your music playlist is a glimpse into your personality
For many of us, our playlist is what defines us, and brings us to peace. We love our playlist more than most things and maybe, this means more than what we think it does. What we listen to is who we are.
Researchers from Fitzwilliam College at the University of Cambridge looked at the traits shared by people with preferences for different music.
It was found that “open” personalities liked “sophisticated” music and weren’t a fan of slow, mellow music.
Extroverts tend to seek out songs with heavy bass lines.
Talkative and Energetic people liked easy-going, acoustic music.
Opera fans are more imaginative and more likely keen to learn new things and enjoy new experiences.
Those who enjoy jazz and classical music tend to be more creative and have higher IQ-scores.
According to researcher AdrianNorth of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, Sometimes, people feel defensive about their music taste because it is directly related to their attitudes and personality.
