Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith to make India debut with Vh1 Supersonic
By Bryan Durham - January 17, 2019
Rapper Jaden Smith will be in India for the first time as one of the headliners at the Vh1 Supersonic at the Mahalakshmi Lawns in Pune on February 16-17.
The son of Will Smith (no introduction needed) will be part of a musically diverse lineup at this two-day festival, now in its sixth edition.
Phase 1 included name-dropping of acts like Marshmello, Bonobo Live, Troyboi and Tropkillaz. The Phase 2 announcement has Smith, Rudimental (DJ Set) and Two Door Cinema Club (who also perform in the country for the first time).
Jaden is expected to perform songs from his debut album ‘Syre’, which took three years to make and has top-shelf production.
This is interesting news, considering Jaden has expressed interest in Bollywood, way back in 2017.

His father Will beat him to it by featuring in Student Of The Year 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria Puri.
Nevertheless, Jaden’s inclusion in the Supersonic lineup is getting all the buzz at the moment.
Commenting on the announcement, Saugato Bhowmik, Business Head, Integrated Network Solutions & Consumer Products, said “It is a matter of great joy to welcome Jaden Smith to India along with the likes of Rudimental DJ and Two Door Cinema Club to curate a multi-genre festival that offers the best of EDM, Live, Techno and much more.”
The festival curator of Vh1 Supersonic, Nikhil Chinapa said, “Jaden Smith, Two Door Cinema Club, Gaiser and Breathe Carolina all play their first ever gigs in India at the sixth edition of our festival in Pune. Rudimental return to Vh1 Supersonic with the release of their brand new album Toast To Our Differences which drops on January 25. I’m incredibly excited to know that fans are going to experience an avalanche of new music, new genres and brand new experiences at our festival in Pune!”
